Man of Steel

I went to the movies with my brother and sister, to watch the new Superman movie.

It was good.

We all liked it - and are wanting to go again.  (which, we will when brother Daniel can make it home within the next month).

There were several lines that I especially liked and might just quote one day.
The only part I didn't fully agree with - (SPOILER, sort of) is the kiss.  That, to me, came out of left field.  Sister says, 'duh, he saved her life - of course, they're gonna wanna kiss' but me?  Eh, not having my life saved by a total stranger, not sure if I'd see something in him.
Maybe after a hero rescues me from something I didn't expect to survive, I'll feel differently, but until then, it doesn't have the emotional connection and draw that I think is a prerequisite to kissing.

Think I'll give the movie another go before writing more about it - what's changed in this movie from the 'facts' I learned growing up, the challenges of reinventing while keeping the character the same, and yet, always drawing a new crowd, a new generation in without feeling like a total-rip off of someone else's hard work.

Man of Steel is movie number 2 I've seen in theaters this year.
Wonder how many I will see before years end.
(Theaters seem to be a treat in this family - we go once, twice a year, maybe.  Possibly more often for birthdays but typically wait for the movie to come out on DVD or whatever before seeing it.)
May list the movies I remember seeing IN THEATER, later

in theater, personal, viewpoints, life
