Prompt #6. Let’s assume we’re friends
Summary: the Enemy of my enemy is my friend.
“Put the weapons away, we’re all friends here.”
“He’s a CON - no friend of mine!” Bluestreak snarled.
“You think Megatron wants to sing the Kumbaya?” The mech seemed almost amused by the artillery pointed at his spark. “We’re not buddy-buddy friends, and we never will be.”
“Hey,” Jazz jumped between Blue’s weapon and the con. “Put the guns away.”
“No - leave them out. We’ll settle our differences like proper mechs.”
“Gladly.” Blue fired.
His weapon jammed.
Swearing furiously, Bluestreak stepped forward and swung his gun like it was a nightstick.
He missed.
Before the angry Praxian sniper could rush the con, Jazz tripped him.
Still swearing a bluestreak, the fallen mech turned towards his companion. “What is your problem, Jazz?”
“Blue, he came to us. Hear him out before rendering his spark to ashes.”
“I don’t need you to fight my battles, Jazz.”
“Sorry, Dirge, habit.”
The con snorted. “It’s not like I ask for trouble to find me.”
“Nope -“ Jazz grinned.
“It’s Ramjet who’s the trouble-caller.” Dirge continued. “Him and Thrust both.”
Still mad, unsure who he was angrier at, Bluestreak settled for fuming silence.
“So, why are you calling in the marker, Dirge?”
“The usual.”
“’The usual’ doesn’t need my help fixing. ‘The usual’ is stuff you’ve been dealing with for eons, without involving me. ‘The usual’ is Megatron making vauge motions against Starscream -“
“Shockwave threatened me and my trine.”
“Oh. That stuff.” Jazz considered. “Got a plan?”
“That’s your department.”
“Mech, I improvise everything. Learned the hard way no plan survives contact with reality, and adapted ‘fore my spark ended up on Shockwave’s lab-slab.”
“Long-distance sniping works on everyone.” Bluestreak surprised himself by offering. “Including walking computers …. I’m assuming that’s why I’m here.”
