Summary: Strange things can be found in rarely visited areas of the ark and sometimes debris is not what it seems to be.
Prowl stared at his reflection. “Perceptor, this is NOT a mirror.”
“I assure you it is,” the distracted scientist replied. “I examined it in detail before moving it, and found no technology behind the silverplated glass.”
Prowl’s distorted reflection examined the autobot tactician. “A mirror shows exactly what is in front of it. Not this changed image.”
Perceptor snorted. “Probably a trick of the light - it was found near a carnival Fun House.”
“Perceptor,” Prowl growled, still focused on the wrongness of what he was seeing. “Not even a carnival mirror would transpose black and white.”
“What?” Perceptor pulled his head and hands out of the piece of equipment he was in the midst of repairing. “Let me see!”
Watching his wrong-colored counterpart, Prowl noticed that Perceptor’s reflection did NOT follow the red scientist when he arrived.
“Huh, that is weird,” Perceptor commented, slowly realizing that his Prowl was black on white, while the Prowl in the mirror was white on black. “But I was sure there was nothing out of the ordinary when we scanned it.” He continued muttering to himself.
Without warning, the other Prowl stalked out of the picture - leaving Prowl and Perceptor staring at an empty laboratory.
“Well, I suppose that’s only one thing to do.” Prowl was the first to regain the ability of speech. “Label this as a Wheeljack Project-in-Progress, and keep it away from the humans.”
“Why Wheeljack? We could simply put a ‘Do-Not-Touch’ warning sign on it?” Perceptor argued, not wanting to see his friend blamed for something he had not touched or seen.
“Because even the Decepticons won’t touch something designed by Wheeljack,” Prowl responded. The two left, leaving the strange item alone.
