In the mood for something different:
chose a Chocolate Chip Bar recipe.
Turned out pretty good.

~ 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
~ 1 large egg
~ 1 Tablespoon milk
~ 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
~ 1 cup All Purpose flour
~ 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
~ 1/4 teaspoon salt
~ 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
~ 1 cup (6 oz. pkg) semi-sweet chocolate chips (morsals)
Preperation:
1. HEAT oven to 350 degrees F.
Coat an 8-inch or 9 inch square baking pan with the non-stick spray.
2. BEAT shortening and brown sugar in medium bowl.
Add egg, milk and vanilla - Beat until light and fluffy.
3. in a small (seperate) bowl, COMBINE flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
Add dry mixture to wet ingredients: Beat well.
Stir in chocolate chip morsals.
Spread in prepared baking pan.
4. BAKE 30 to 35 minutes (or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean).
Cool.
Can serve warm - and with a scoop of ice cream (vanilla) or top with whipped cream.
Cut into squares.
Chocolate chip cookies might have been chewier (and more moist), but these pie-bars are tasty.
