Scientifically inaccurate song lyrics...

Okay, I'm going to give into my inner geek here, but does hearing these lyrics make anybody else feel like somebody is scratching fingernails on a chalkboard, because... they're just wrong? Or maybe you have a lyrics pet peeve of your own to add? Here I go:

"Turpentine" - A great song by Brandi Carlilie (http://www.myspace.com/brandicarlileband), who, btw, sings the song to the car commercial that plays over and over during the Olympics coverage - you know, the one called "The Story": "All of these lines across my face... tell you the story..."

Lyric: "These days we go to waste like wine... that's turned to turpentine".
Come on, Brandi... wine turns to vinegar; turpentine is made from gum from pine trees!

"Good is Good" - by Sheryl Crow.

Lyric: "And everytime you hear the rolling thunder, you turn around before the lightning strikes" Now that would be a neat trick... being warned of lightning by thunder! Sorry, you see lightning before you hear it.

Do you think they didn't know any better, or that they just couldn't resist the way it sounded?
