Application silliness.
I'm looking at the REU applications, and I ran across this:
"3. If you believe that you can contribute to the diversity of the campus or Physics REU program, please do so by checking this box [ ]"
How does checking this box contribute to the diversity of the campus? Filling out the application doesn't even mean that I will be accepted to the REU program there. Or does it mean that I've contributed to the diversity of the campus because now the campus trash will include a piece of paper touched by a diverse person?
I suppose what I have to say about all this diversity stuff is (wait for it...): De longer I read it, diverse it gets.
