So, in my (almost) 16 years at LJMU I've now had 11 line managers, 6 job titles (but have really only done 4 distinct roles across 4 different departments), and 12 (soon to be 13) desks. Yeah...
But it FINALLY feels like the world around me is stable enough for me to pick a direction and actually make some progress along it, with support from my line manager. This second point is VERY important because it must be a good 10 years since I had a line manager who in any way seemed to give a damn about me and my career progression. Of course, we haven't really had the 'what do you want to be when you grow up' conversation, yet, so there is still time for it all to come crashing down but let's be positive until we're proved wrong!
I'm deep into character sheets for DOAIS. I'm prioritising the main characters but I'm hopeful that I'll get through all of them.
I'm also trying to get through half a DVD of DS9 and two DVDs of Doctor Who before Kingsglaive becomes available. If I don't get to watch that in the first few days of November, it's going to have to wait for December. And I'm going to pre-order FFXV next pay day.
The purchase of our house seems to be moving forwards. I had an information-gathering session with a mortgage advisor that went well. Now, the son and I need to get an 'in principle' agreement on a joint mortgage. It's all a little overwhelming...
And now for Lao Tzu...
