Reflections on the first quarter of 2013

Apr 01, 2013 10:02

Early in January, I did a Tarot reading reflecting on 2012 and looking forward to 2013. The lesson 2012 taught me was to be more open and childlike, to find more humour - and that 2013 was a chance for a fresh start.

Now it's time to see how things are progressing...

Three cards again - best thing, worst thing and lesson - all from the Merlin Deck.

Best thing: 3 Beasts - effort
It looks as though my conscious efforts (improve my qualifications, working to improve the Programme Office) have been moving me in the right direction.

Worst thing: 8 Serpents - expediency
This card suggests a warning - changing direction due to given circumstances isn't necessarily a bad thing but should always be done for unselfish reasons. I don't think I've been overly selfish (although selfishness is part of my personality), but I'll keep on the watch.

Lesson: 4 Birds - truce
Hmmm... A chance to pause, to take stock. Rather like doing a tarot reading at the end of the first quarter of the year! I also have a week off work to rest and recharge the batteries a little.

Overall, an encouraging reading.

moving forwards, 1st quarter, tarot
