Happiness is...
- spending money on my little girl for her 21st birthday
- remembering what I was doing at this time on 28 Feb 1988 (I think I was probably having a well-earned sleep about now)

I've been getting wayward in posting in here, again. I was doing really well at one point, too, mostly due to the 'happiness meme'. Oh, well - something is better than nothing.

I deleted the FF7 file that I had and the FF8 ones that I'd forgotten I had. I tried starting FFX-2 but didn't continue it. I have a really old save (as in OMG 3 YEARS old) that shows 54% complete and I think it's up to the point where you do Beclan's challenge. Which is a shooting game. Which I am really, really pants at. My next move should be either a) tackle the last few big, scary nasties in FF12 or b) play and complete FF6. Or c) complete Beclan's challenge.

We watched 'St Trinian's' last night. It was actually quite good in places. I love LoveFilm.com. I've moved 'the air that i breathe', 'the bucket list' and 'last king of scotland' up to high priority.

I've decided that I don't like Sherlock Holmes short stories. Some of them are pretty good, but others are just rehashes of earlier stories. I only have a few left to read, so I'll read the rest, then never touch the thing again.

Tomorrow, Republic of Pemberley is starting a group-read of Northanger Abbey. I'll only need to read a chapter a day to keep up, because it's such a short book. This is good! It'll also give me an excuse to pack the book for the Away Day next week.

I am really looking forward to the API Super-Team Away Day. My bag is already 90% packed :p They are always good fun and there's such a crowd going this time! And it's the first time we'll all have the chance to get to know a bit about what all the different areas do.

Mark seems to be falling into Wayne and Brenda's habit of 'oh, I have a problem - Rose will fix it!'. I now have five processes to map by Wednesday (because they're needed for the Away Day), none of which I really know much about. Still, JB has given me a rough outline, so they shouldn't prove too difficult. And I know the people to contact to get them checked over.

'Christianity: A History' finishes tomorrow. I was pleasantly surprised by the scientist on the last programme. He spoke to a Jesuit astronomer and a scientist from the Creation Museum. I was particularly taken with the physicist who said that he didn't believe that God had created the Universe - but as a hypothesis he wasn't ruling it out :p At the end, the presenter said that he believed that one day Science would be able explain everything, including how our minds work and why we feel the need for religion. He seemed to be suggesting that this would mean we would no longer need religion - but why? Is Science going to be able to 'cure' us of our need for religion? And just because we would no longer need religion, does this mean that God therefore does not exist?

I really have no problem with people who do not believe in God. I feel sorry for them because I feel they are missing out on so much that they might otherwise experience. And, worst of all, they are doing this to themselves. But again and again atheists simply demonstrate their own closed-mindedness - which is what they accuse religious people of having! As a Liberal Christian, I do feel a little guilty. I feel that I get to 'have my cake and eat it' - I can benefit from the lessons of Science whilst still attributing the existance of all things to God :p There just is no conflict as far as I'm concerned. But other people seem determined to create one. *sigh*

Well, that's all for now, LJ. Toodles!
