Happiness is...
- being greeted by real coffee when I got into work
- a slow day at work that allowed me to make some real progress on my assignments (feeling much better about them, now)
- chatting to Wayne about the new Doctor (planning on a bit more of that, tomorrow)
- the house to myself
I've added a third resolution - to make sure the dishes are done before I go to bed. I hate waking up and seeing them sat there. Colin does usually do them, but I shouldn't take it for granted that he's going to.
And I've extended the second one - wherever possible, I'm going to buy recycled, eco-friendly or fair trade, as long as the price is roughly equivalent to the 'normal' variety (eg, a 'normal' chocolate bar is 50p and a fair trade chocolate bar is 70p - however, I buy chocolate for myself very rarely and I'm more than happy to spend the extra knowing that it's going to the producers).
So, in the year I wasn't going to make any resolutions, I now have three. However, they will all contribute to making my life a little sunnier.
Over the Christmas break, I was sleeping in until 9 or 10am. I feel so much better for it and the evil 'flu bug seems to have been finally defeated. However, it does show how much my body just needed rest - in great big dollops. I have been taking things as easy as I could, given everything I have going on. I think the trouble began when I got ill the first time - then got hit twice more in quick succession. I probably should have rested more after the first bout. I think I'll leave the Progressive Christianity course and join the second group when they pick up the second batch of sessions, which will be when the Masters course breaks for the summer. It will also give me an extra evening to study for my Masters.
I've got a copy of the complete collection of Sherlock Holmes stories. I think I'm going to take it upstairs and curl up with it - after washing up, of course ;)

resolutions
