Decisions, decisions

Happiness is...
- cuddles on the couch and make-up sex
- defeating two marks in one gaming session
- feeling virtuous for working on my assignments
- making plans for next year ;)

So, I watched 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' with the 'fun facts' feature switched on. 'Fun' is stretching it a bit and 'facts' is simply incorrect. They told me twice that Tolkien didn't approve of mixing mythologies and twice that 60 million copies of LWW have been sold; this is not 'fun' - it is boooring, especially the second time. They also informed me that the jinn are descended from Eve when Mr Beaver tells the children they are descended from Lillith, and that satyrs have goats' legs and tails when I always thought they were foxy; these inaccuracies make me wonder about the rest of the 'facts'. What makes it worse is that the feature was introduced by Douglas Gresham, step-son to Lewis and producer of the film. The upshot is that I won't be turning this feature on again.

FF12, however, is much more satisfying. I tend to be pretty unscientific about battles. My general approach is to level my characters up, give them strong weapons and armour and then just head into the fray. Usually, this works - once they are strong enough, they just batter down all resistance. However, for boss battles, some tweaking of equipment (Bowline Sashes to avoid Confusion, for example) and gambits (give Penelo a Turtleshell Choker and make her responsible for all healing and protective magic, for example) is in order. So, I am now two Espers and two Hunts away from a full set. I have some creatures missing from the beastiary, but I think I'll just let those go.

Did a bit of work on my assignments, last night. I really need to get on and type them up properly, now. :(

I am making a resolution to get some control over my credit card and then treat myself to a second-hand DSLite (red, if possible). I definitely want at least one of the Brain Training games and Revenant Wings - and perhaps the 100 books on a single cassette. And, as part of my mission to corrupt the grandson as early as possible, I'll get a game or two for him ;)

Well, that's all for now. Toodles, LJ!
