I have just completed the
epilogue for version 2 of Pirates. Please feel free to R & R!
Went to Billy's school parents' evening, tonight. All of his teachers seem to really like him, and to want him to do well. Unfortunately, he's left it too late to do as well as he might have done. But, if he really pulls his socks up, the situation isn't completely disastrous. But it will require some real effort from him, which he isn't used to!
On the whole, I'm feeling positive. It's really nice to see so many strangers (to me, at least) who think well of my son. And his mock exam results really hammered home to him how much he has fallen short of what he's capable of. His History teacher seemed genuinely concerned that he was depressed, and there was some situation at home that was upsetting him! He assured her that it really is his own laziness that has made his marks drop so badly. I think she thought Colin and I must be going through some horrible divorce, or something.
He then had to come home and do some coursework (that he's had months to do, of course) for tomorrow. I nearly didn't write anything, tonight, but I decided I should show some solidarity, and did better than I expected to. I'm completely exhausted, though, so goodness only knows how he's feeling!
I'm expecting a quiet day work-wise, tomorrow, as Debbie is off on her course. I have a meeting with Guy at 11am, and then one with the new person from Health back at work at 12.30pm.
And now, I'm off to bed. Night, LJ!
