I don't know what is real any more...
The University asked me for a report, which I eventually sent. They told me it was no good. I had to print it out, sign it and send them a scan. So what if I don't have a printer or scanner? That's my problem. I printed and signed the document as soon as I could and thought that was it. Nope! Yesterday I got another email telling me there was a new version of the document, generated today, that I need to sign last week. Well, I went to the office today to ask what it was all about. There I was informed that I had not, in fact sent or signed any report, ever, that I couldn't possibly have got an email about it yesterday, that it was due last month, in a different office, and that I was a filthy liar.
"But I sent it a while ago... And then, yesterday..."
"That's not true. Get out."
And that was the end of the conversation.
I did, eventually, manage to locate and sign the new version of the document. Then I checked my mail three more times. All the evidence was there. It had all happened. And yet, it had not. Unless I'm still seeing things that aren't there. How do I know what's real?
