Yes, i've finished to read it yesterday... so here we go with my thoughts on the last, awesome, HP book!
SPOILERS under the cut!
So, i loved this book. I really loved it. I think that explains how i could read it in 3 days when english is not my own language lol! I finished it yesterday afternoon and i was so sad all the evening... i don't know it felt like missing something, it can't be over... it's the end of an era :( But fortunately there are still 2 movies to come so cheer it up!
Let's go back to the book anyway...
1)Yep, i agree: too much deaths. And too little attention on them. Like we don't know what exactly happened to Lupin and Tonks, not attention on George's reaction over Fred, etc. The one i felt the most is Dobby one, i really felt awful =/
2)I really liked the chapters at Grimmauld Place, all the three of them together there in a big house... they seemed like a family; i felt sorry when they couldn't come back anymore and Harry thought of Kreatcher waiting there for them. Kreatcher... wow! I totally didn't see the change coming, but i loved it! Guess Hermione was eventually right, it all depends on how wizards decided to treat house elves. And i loved when in the end it's Kreatcher himself who leads the other house elves at Hogwarts!
[<3 Dobby // Kreatcher FTW!]
3)R.A.B. well from what i read months ago i was already pretty sure that it was Regulus Black so i wasn't so surprised, but i liked the outcome of his character... i mean how in the end he realized that he had been wrong and so he sacrificated himself with his own death to destroy the hocrux. (Lolz at Sirius having in his room poster of muggles girls in bikini)
4)The life and lies of Albus Dumbledore... i understand i guess how Harry felt about the whole 'he didn't tell me this and that', 'perhaps he didn't trust me' etc but i totally agreed with Hermione that Dumbledore really cared for Harry and he was just young when such things happened, the most important fact was that then he changed and became the Dumbledore we all knew for 6 years. So i was really shocked when inside Snape's memories we find out that Dumbledore knew that Harry should die and he didn't mention anything for the 'greater good'. And then i was glad to read in "King's Cross" that everything was explained between Harry and him and i just loved when in the end Harry talks with Dumbledore when he's in the headmaster's office. (But Harry had eyes only for the man who stood in the largest portrait directly behind the Headmaster's chair. Tears sliding down from behind the half-moon spectacles into the long silver beard, and the pride and the gratitude emanating from him filled Harry with the same balm as phoenix song.) I knew that he really cared and it wasn't just for the greater good, it couldn't have been! Btw Aberforth ftw! And as always Dumbledore pwns everyone with the objects he left in his will... he already knew that Ron would have need the Deluminator to come back!
5)Ron and Hermione. OMG! <3 I loved all their parts together so much! Like it wasn't such big deal going on but just the fact that he was there to comfort her and all the "always the tone of surprise", the holding hands falling asleep on the floor of Grimmauld Place and how he always wanted to protect her... aaaaw i went all fangirl over them! <3 And i loved all the scene when Ron has to crash the locket-hocrux and his fear is that Hermione prefers Harry over him. Sweet! And lmao at Hermione's reaction when Ron comes back XD "You-complete-arse-Ronald-Weasley!" And finally the kiss in the end, during the battle actually lol! And all cause Ron finally stood up for the elves'rights XP It's canon! <3
6)Malfoy. I've never liked Draco as i liked him in this book, yet he wasn't completely good but there was something in him... you know! I liked him, yep.
[Draco the twitchy little ferret]
7)The Deathly Hallows. Very interesting indeed! I loved how it turned out in the end that Draco was the real master of the wand and so Harry became its owner... and literally pwns Voldemort. Yayness!
8)The Prince's Tale. OMG, amazing chapter! One of the most important. It was all awesome how we understood that in the end Snape was really one of us during all these years... and how he promised and worked to protect Harry from the begininng and just for love of Lily. And finally the truth about Dumbledore's death. Really awesome. I guess we can add him to the list of people who died for Harry lolz. And harry named his first son Albus Severus! <3
9)The Hocrux: A little predictable that Harry was the last one but totally awesome how he went straight for his dead to sacrificate himself and in the end he survived for this indeed!
10)Yep, Ron was swearing for quite the entire book, lmao!
11)The battle at Hogwarts LOVED IT. I actually got shivers everytime that one of the past came back to join the others and fight... like the whole DA, the Order of the Phoenix, the old Gryffindor Quidditch team and so on; Neville totally ftw and i really liked how he, Ginny and Luna kept on fighting from the inside during the whole year; McGonagall ftw too! And so the other teachers! Ravenclaw and Huffelpluff defending Harry with Gryffindor against the Syltherins was great! PERCY! OMG! And he actually joked!!! Mrs Weasley's Not my daughter, you bitch! was priceless! XD I loved how Neville kept on fighting even when he was in front of Voldemort and he cried "Dumbledore's army!" and everyone started to fight again! It actually gave me chills! And then the last duel between Harry and Voldemort... awesome how Harry had understood everything and clearly pwns him! And how he called him "Riddle"... great! And it was meant to end with Expelliarmus vs. Avada Kedavra ...i guess that E > AK proves the whole love's theory of Dumbledore or something like that :)
[LFMAO Snape! // Mrs Weasley ftw!]
12)The epilogue... well... lol! Yeah it was nice but i didn't like it that much... i guess i'd prefer to read the end straight after the battle and not after 19 years. But then it just proves that they were all well and rightly paired up lol so it's okay!
So in the end... awesome book, i loved it so much and i couldn't have expected more from it, totally perfect! <3
