Well, yeah, that's what I meant, I think we called it miscommunication angst in the Doctor/Rose fandom, so I guess maybe it's not a common thing to call it that.

Oh yeah, I was agreeing with you, just phrasing it a little differently. Miscommunications are fun, if they don't lead to more serious problems.

retconning is a big no.

That's really what I meant. Take, for instance, the increasingly tragic (in terms of quality) Castle. Back in season 2, they had Beckett start seeing another guy, and suddenly act like she didn't know that Castle had feelings for her, despite tacitly admitting she knew he did a couple of weeks before. Such bad writing.

Me,too, although I'm not nearly as sensitive about these two as anything between JB but I was thinking "This better not be build-up to anything, show". Also, I dunno maybe there's nothing to it but I noticed how Jeff is sort of being pushed out of the love-pentangle, left out, 'cause Britta gets paired up with Troy and Annie with Abed, even the way they are sitting at Xmas (or at the dining table at the cafeteria in 3x06, how Annie actually wanted to switch to being paired up with Abed and Britta with Troy during Competitive Ecology) sort of leaves him on the outlines.

I don't really mind Jeff/Britta so much, on the level it's been portrayed. But if they tried to push it as something involving actual feelings, I'd be annoyed.

But Annie/Abed just creeps me out. I think it's the one pairing (not involving Pierce) that could turn me off the show. Because Annie is only interested when he's not being Abed. And I don't want to see a pairing where one person has to pretend to be something he's not to get the girl. I know some people say, 'his roleplaying is just showing facets of his character', but that really isn't the case, from what I can see. I don't think Abed has a part of his character that is Han Solo, or Batman, or Don Draper. He's playing a role, and the Han Solo bit in particular was worrisome for me because it felt like he deliberately engineered a situation where he could play out his fantasy of being that character, and of kissing Princess Leia.

Heh, it's kind of ridiculous how many problems between fictional characters could have been solved if they'd just had one honest conversation instead of building up on all the lies and omitions, I think that's basic plot of all CW shows that don't involve supernatural stuff, and even those that do XD

Ugh, Castle, you sadden me, you used to be soo good and take my breath away but now I'm boored.

J/B is a very sore topic for me probably because I see them as the only real threat to J/A because of Dan's preferences, I really don't find Annie/Abed that threatening (it could also be because I have this double standards when it comes to J/A, I can bear the thought of Annie with another person from study group (Britta, Abed, even Troy) but I absolutely cannot bear the thought of Jeff with someone else romantically, random hookups of his don't bother me but any possibility of him having romantic feelings for anyone but Annie does bother me, very very much, especially in case of J/B, any form of cute/touching/nice JB moments make me want to claw my eyes out, I can take the bickering, but not in big doses, that's about it XD)
I just find the thought of Annie/Abed romantically really weird because I just can't imagine how that would work, Abed clearly doesn't function in the way I understand so I dunno how he would be in a relationship and since we haven't been given any examples I draw a blank. Also, Annie craves passion and emotional connection and affection I'm just afraid Abed is unable to give in the way she wants, idk.
I don't really understand Abed's motivations, heh, I remember in 1x22 Pierce said "I call the other two women FlatButt and The One Abed Wants To Nail"(lol, it's been almost two years and we still don't know), and I'm still guessing which is which, because we know he finds Britta attractive and he was just as distracted by Annie's chest as Troy in 2x02. I wish I really understood him better.
