Anyway, I finally got my great raise from channUL 26 action WAGT news. My manager said raises were between 1 and 5% of your current salary. That means my raise could've been either 7 cents or 33 cents (I'm assuming the powers that be are generous and round up). However I somehow achieved a 50 cent raise (a 7.692307% raise for all you number munchers). Woo, I'm catching up with the cost of living increases (take that 1.29$ junior bacon cheeseburger!)
Other news? Well, I recently wasted a good deal of money on an awesome speaker system for my room. Although my room isn't set up very well for surround sound, so it sounds a bit muddy since the "rear" speakers are more or less facing the audience sideways. It still sounds nice. I mean, whenever i watch star trek, the scores of empty cups littered around my room move a few inches because of the awesome bass.
I'm going to get a display card with some kind of video output so hopefully I will eventually be able to veg out in front of the computer on the couch in front of the tv. Of course, I'll need a wireless keyboard and mouse to achieve optimal sluggishness (lying sideways in the bed lazily eyeing the tv)
Things are looking up jobwise. I'm seriously considering a future at WAGt. We're supposed to have a digital array completely set up sometime around the end of April. Which means it should be completely set up some time around the beginning of september. And Anika hinted that there will be a few positions opening up for digital editing, as some of the photogs that work right now are so old school they have no clue what to do.
Doesn't pay much better than I'm getting right now, but the shifts look better (10am-7pm or 3pm-11pm weekdays, mostly)
School. Not to good. I've got some serious backlog on my senior project. I'm probably going to skip pukises senior meeting this week as i still dont have anything to show them. god, i can only imagine how behind i would be if i had a real class to deal with. pottery is fun, but taxing. i havent bought my supplies and the few that i've borrowed from sarahs mom are not suitable for all tasks. looks like i might have to shell out some more money.
unless anyone has a bamboo brush they aren't using right now,... anyone?
