Okay, it's that time of the year again: EMerchants is interviewing for development positions. Thankfully, we're a far cry from where we were the first time I solicited my friends for CVs, and I'm not spouting lines like "pay is very light, but you get to work with me!".
We're basically chasing C++/C# talent. .NET experience is a plus, Oracle or other databasing experience is nice, *NIX knowledge is cool. Sockets programming, large scale software development, and excellent baking skills will all stand you in good stead, as well as a willingness to stick around and have a few beers after work occasionally.
In all seriousness, the PD is still to be written, but if you have C# or C++ skills and are looking for a change, let me know. It's a relaxed work environment, very light on bureaucracy, small and friendly dev team, good opportunity to grow your skill base (including training opportunities), exposure to main-stream financial networks and techniques... The whole deal. It's an exciting time here at EMA, we're growing our infrastructure, so there's increasingly the opportunity to play with cool gear. We're chasing all kinds of new technology, and we get to do things like (some current, some planned for the future):
Printing and embossing of debit cards
Learning all about encryption
Developing systems to detect and prevent money laundering and terrorism financing
Playing with SmartCard EMV technology
Playing with RFID payment systems (yech)
Experimenting with other payment technologies and platforms
Messing with new authentication schemes
So yeah, let me know. I'm happy to take referrals too, if you have mates who are interested.
