Bad September - CONvergence 2010

Jul 07, 2010 11:13

Though I was low on sleep, it was great fun to meet in Charlie's room Sunday morning to practice for our Harmonic CONvergence set!  I had missed playing with the band over these last weeks, and was looking forward to us being at "full strength" for our set at 2.  Bad September had been present throughout CON, playing smaller acoustic sets & at the Cabaret one night.  They even presented a tea!  Wish I could've been there for that.  A fan of the band brought a 1903 copy of Robert's Rules of Order which he asked us all to sign...can't imagine being asked to do anything cooler than that.

Wandered the CON and helped get our gear in place, then watched mistoffo and borcherm talk about & perform CHECK STEAM PRESSURE at a songwriting panel.  They done good!  mistoffo talked about worldbuilding and characters, and their song/contribution to the panel fit the context of CON most appropriately.

We then chatted at the bar and had a Guinness liquid brunch before our set.  The crowd was great!  Folks were along for the ride and had a good time.  The sound guys did great in a short period, and it seemed like the mix was on the money.  Good sweaty fun.  Felt lovely to bang the drum again.  I hope folks post pictures/video...saw a fair amount of flashes going off.

We have plans this week to lay down some more tracks for the EP.  It'll be good to get that finished up.

bad september, music
