Media

I feel like chatting about (to some extent) the media I've been exposed to.

For movies:
For book club I saw (again) Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (I saw it almost a year ago when Alex lent me his DVD during Spring Break). I still enjoyed it, yet nearly all of the book club didn't (nor did they care for the play). They felt the movie to be too long, and the play too strange. For our Friday night routine, Alex and I have seen Dogma (which he's seen before, but I hadn't; very good at poking fun and making good points about Catholicism), The Ten (could have had potential at poking good fun at The Ten Commandments, but the stories were weak and not that funny, although Liev Schreiber karate chopping his wife in the neck is always good, and Janeane Garofalo pointing a finger at some guy while saying "focus" is my new phrase and movement), and Transformers (good entertainment, but a but long; it didn't help that we watched it after a long day of theatre work and rehearsals).

For books:
Ugh, I've become pathetic when it comes to reading. I want to read so badly, but I have no time or I just end up falling asleep. Where did the old bookworm Melissa go? Anyway, aside from reading The Butler Did It and A Night in the Theatre (for theatre purposes), I still haven't finished, but almost am done with, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, again for book club, and I'm reading Listen for Lions for book club.

For music:
I still haven't used my iTunes gift card from Diana, but I've taken CDs out of the library. I burned all the songs from KT Tunstall's Eye to the Telescope and Bond's Shine, and some songs from Now 25 (like Home and Before He Cheats), Old School Oldies Volume 2 (like At Last and Sixteen Candles), The Righteous Brothers (like Little Latin Lupe Lu and You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'), and one song from They Might Be Giants' Apollo 18 (Dig My Grave).
