walking through this ghost town...

Tonight Vic met me at my new house and we decided to go eat at The Garage. It was not bad at all. I had fish tacos with blue corn tortillas. The blue tortillas looked awesome. I was able to eat everything, so I was happy with myself. One time that I got up to go use the restroom, I got hit on by this fifty-some year old biker chick that didn't have any teeth. She liked my boots a lot. After finishing up eating and talking, we decided to walk down Main Street and see what was up. Practically everywhere was closed and there really was not even anyone out loitering, so we walked all the way down to University and then headed toward Campus Corner. Practically everything there was deserted as well. Even the Deli with Hosty playing had very few people. We ended up taking a break at Louie's Too where we ran into Dee and Marcus. Dee was really excited to see me and bought me a royal fuck. We sat at the bar and got caught up on recent goings on with each of us and talked about Japanese and other random things. She made sure to get my number so we could get together and work on my Japanese some before the semester started up in August. Vic bought a shot (banana nut muffin) for a goth chick named Vanessa that came into the bar just because he thought she was cute and cool. After talking for a while, we left and started walking again and made it to the Deli where we saw a couple of girls with a puppy. We loitered outside the Deli for a while talking to them and playing with the puppy and saw some random people that we had seen earlier at the Garage. Vanessa showed up there after a little while and we talked to her again for a bit. We also ran into a guy that I used to work with and talked to him for a while, catching up on what was going on in our lives. All in all it was a pretty good night. I definitely needed to get out and socialize, and the crowds were small enough that I was comfortable with it. The walking also did a lot of good for me as well. Yay for exercise!
Tomorrow I have to head up to Dr Cannon's office to make sure that they get my FMLA paperwork submitted so that I do not lose my job. It was due on June 4th, but apparently they have not completed it yet. I guess that maybe they were waiting to know exactly what they were going to do before submitting it, but their best guess is going to have to do. In a flexible situation like this, there really is not any way of knowing everything until it is all said and done.
For some reason there was no water at my house. I am going to have to talk to the City of Norman about that tomorrow and see what is up with that, since I was supposed to have water service starting this past thursday. Oh well. I will get it all straightened out.
I am definitely looking forward to moving into the house and furnishing it. Maybe after that I can start having people over on a semi-regular basis and not feel so self conscious or awkward about it.
