Help me help Habitat for Humanity.
It's been a while since I've posted a link to a fundraising page in here. This one is different from the others I've posted before.
The Bachelor of Social Work Organization (BSWO) at RIC is organizing a trip to New Orleans for spring break. We're not going down there to party; we're going to help Habitat for Humanity build affordable housing for folks who are still putting their lives back together after Hurricane Katrina. We'll arrive on Monday afternoon (3/15) and we'll be working, from what I understand, 8 hour days Tuesday through Saturday, returning on Sunday (3/21). While I'm sure there will be some time to relax and check out New Orleans, this is no vacation.
We lobbied the student government to help us out and got a grant, but we're still short of what we need in order to pull this off.
So: I know that times are rough for most people right now, and money is tight. But if you find yourself in a position to donate anything, whether it's $5 or $50, I would really appreciate it. Also feel free to share the link with everyone you know. Thanks!
