The AIDS Walk

Jun 04, 2007 01:21

I'm not feeling very chatty, so I'll let the pics speak for themselves. I will say a couple of things first, though:
  • I continue to feel like crawling into a cave, but for the last couple of days I've resisted the temptation. I'm going to be busy for the next couple of days, and I go back and forth: is this a good thing (because otherwise I would just wallow in an emo pit) or a bad thing (because it's just distracting me from my feelings)? Although there's still a big pile of complex feelings to sort through, I'm leaning toward the first option.
  • The walk was nice. Thanks again to everyone who made a donation. If you missed that entry, you can still make a donation by clicking here. We got a little rain, and it was really humid, but fortunately not at all hot.
  • I had a good long conversation with a friend from my childhood on Saturday, and we (I) finally addressed a couple of issues that I feel like I've been talking circles around for years: my orientation and my HIV status. As I suspected, he knew about both (in part thanks to the wonders of Google), and didn't care about either. That was a relief to finally get those words out.
Okay, on with the show...

There was an internet radio show being recorded during registration, and I got interviewed
for it. I might actually share the URL when this show gets released. :-)

He made his way into lots of pics (like the last one) but here's a shot
for which he actually posed: Mr. Gay Rhode Island 2007. Man, he looks so young to me!

The aforementioned radio show interviewing Providence's mayor, and some local TV personality that
I should probably know, but don't, because I rarely watch local news.

some pre-walk speech making

me and popicn; I took this myself. Those long arms come in handy...

Another shot, in which I look like a politician

I didn't take a lot of pics this year, so I'm kind of amazed that this many came out even remotely decent. Really wanting a new camera now.

coming out issues, pictures, volunteer work
