Fantasy Hockey and More
I went to Chicago this past weekend: what a blast. United Center beats the shit out of Xcel Energy Center any day of the week. The fans, the team, the atmosphere is unlike anything I have ever felt or been apart of in an arena. I was watching a story instead of a game. It was pretty unreal. My dad had a fucking blast which was the most important thing possible for me and this trip. We had a lot of laughs, good times and some pretty crude jokes all weekend.
Here are some highlights:
Jeff Faust scared as shit driving in Chicago traffic, runs through a toll both using MY CAR.
-Bob Faust and his gratuitous use of the word "Douchebag" but said with a deep Minnesotan accent.
-The Hawks.
-All the great food and places we went to: Robinson's Ribs, Zapistias, Alergino Pizza.
-Just hanging out with the Faust guys. We haven't spend this much time together since my parent's divorce.
-Snorefest 2009
Anyways,
School is going fine, I am finding it easier and easier to get shit done (with some help here and there) I really feel that I can be personable enough to dominate my degree and future when I get out of school. I am going to be making several big changes next year in school, considering where I will be, where I will work and how much I will work.
I am finding myself more willing to spend my extra time or manage my time better for certain people, I love re-connecting with good friends and I really am enjoying the amount of time I get to spend with a few in particular.
My birthday was pretty rad this year, I mean they say twenty two is like the real first adult birthday because there are no big bdays left, and I agree. It was way more laid back, way smaller, but if you end up at Cousineaus with some of your closest friends singing Karaoke shitfaced, well I guess anyone would be lucky enough to call that a good birthday.
Finally,
It wouldn't be a good Andrew Robert LJ post without some fantasy hockey talk. This year I did not care almost at all about my teams and really rarely updated my rosters or set them. I was in top 2 for three of my leagues (2 screw up leagues try outs) and like 8th in my other one. I forgot to set my rosters for the past two weeks and I am out of top five playoff contention for 3 leagues. My 8th place one I am fighting for a seventh place championship. I had a bye in a small league that I may be able to pull a win out of. My other two leagues I am fighting upwards for a possible 3rd place. I wish I would have spent just a little more time, as I look through my teams, I am very impressed (sounds super gay) how much I have learned since getting back into hockey these past two plus years. I know I stopped caring about it but fuck, I love the sport more than other hobby not to mention the fact it is my only real release when I feel like shit. Anyways, without sounding like Im blowing my roommates or whacking off to SI trade rumors, I will leave you all with just this, and this post will be probably my last one for a long time. (Even though, as history shows, not checking this will make me wanna update it more)
