Grrr...very weekend that kit and I try to designate for a housewarming party turns out to be already taken up with some random event/trip... I promise you all that I will be sending out invites eventually once we finally pin down a date.
Last weekend we were in Miami for Janelle's graduation - was a so-so trip unfortunately. Particularly the drive home which involved the following steps.
1. Leave Miami with 6 people packing into the mini-van
2. Travel all of 20 miles and have the van break down
3. Endure nasty heat while staring at broken down van
4. Arrange a rental van and get cab to rental office
5. Return to rest of party/van to discover the van can be fixed in an hour or so
6. Return rental
7. Drive off in newly repaired van and realize you need gas
8. Pull off to get gas and get in car accident less than 10 miles from site of breakdown
9. Wait for cops while trying to ignore the pain
10. Remove all belongings from van including 'nell's stuff we were moving for her
11. Call friends as we were a few miles SOUTH of old apartment (were less than an hour from the hotel we'd left that morning)
12. Get friends to transport stuff and people to old apartment while some goes to airport for a second rental van

Yeah, we ended up spending that night in a motel having gotten a whole 90 minutes distance from were we started. Luckily we got home the next day after lots of calling people's work to explain that none of us would be there and, oh yeah, BRUSH-FIRES like 30 yards from the road we were driving.
Ugh. Luckily we're all safe and sound. Am having doubts about the idea of a birthday road-trip now though...
