Went house shopping today. Philly is scary, seriously so. I like my non-city life, thankyouverymuch. We rated neighborhoods on 1-10 scale of how much raping and stabbing we were likely to incur.
We did find an AMAZING house, though. A bit pricey, taxes are way high, and it needs 25-40K in rehab, but it could be absolutely amazing and worth 100-150K more than we'd pay. I'd need at least one, maybe two more roomies to do it though. Anyone know folks who need gorgeous housing near Aracadia University? The neighborhood is fantastic, too. Parking, full yard, a shed, flowers, a library (squee!), and four huge bedrooms. Oodles of storage. Pool table. Fireplace. It could be so perfect - only problem is fronting the money, you know? I'll be able to afford it in the long run, but I'll have to put up a down payment, money for furniture and repairs...that's a lot. Considering if you adjust my wage to subtract the monthly school loans I need to repay, I'm literally making minimum wage. Approximately $6.60/hour. For 80 hours a week. >.< Boo.
But...house...!
