Post Birthday Post

I think my birthday was a roaring success. I spent all day Saturday with Rachel getting ready for my party. We did a lot of grocery shopping, cooking, baking, and walking around the block because it was too nice of a day to spend cooped up in the kitchen. The menu consisted of skirt steak, kale, and twice-baked potatos. For dessert I made a red velet cake, which was not horrible at all. Rachel made the frosting.

Dinner was very delicious and everybody showed up, except for that bitch Jordan Frazes who didn't even RSVP in the first place, but instead told Jamie to tell us she was coming. Then she called the day of the party (a place had already been set for her) and said she had to babysit. What is the point of sending out invitations weeks in advance if you're just going to take the first babysitting opportunity you can get? What a whore. Anyway, we didn't really want her there anyway so it kind of worked out. There were 9 people there including me. After dinner we played this version of exquisite corpse that just turned into a bunch of drawings of penises and sentences about David sucking lots of cock.

The party wasn't over until 2:00 am, which was really awesome. Usually everybody just leaves as soon as desserts over at these things. I had so much fun, and I got really great gifts. Mostly wine, because that's what I told people to get me, but I got a truly awful soy candle from my roommate. I need to scan in the card that she wrote me (shudder).

The next morning I woke up at like 7:30 am because I was hung over and that always happens to me. I finished cleaning up from the party and meandered over to my parent's apartment because they have a nice sunny backyard with adirondack chairs and it was another truly gorgeous day. I hung out there until about 12:30 and then I went to the Kane County Flea Market with Rachel. It's one of those things we always do, like going to Ikea and R.J. Grunts. Rachel got a bunch of random teacups and I got some replacement crystals for my chandelier. I only got six and I actually needed 7 though, so I guess I'll have to go back next month!

For dinner I went with my family to Club Lucky, which I really like. I got the rigatoni with veal meatballs, which is an amazing dish. The coffee was really bad though, but that's a completely different story.

Now it's after my birthday and I'm not special anymore, just older. Now I have next year to look forward to!
