Not...really. There's maybe a hundred of us who have it, at most.

I don't know how the others did. But mine came from the...gem implanted in my chest.

The forgeries are fake Deadmen. Their powers are a little different.

Yeah, a gem. I don't really know how it gave me my powers, but it's connected to the Wretched Egg, and that's where our powers originate from anyway.

The wretched egg? In my world, there are alters, but only in the 'Lost Ground' where Kanagawa prefecture used to be. Kanami says I'm an alter user, but I can't seem to make it work.

It sounds like he didn't have good reasons.

That sounds a lot like home... The Branch of Sin only shows up in people who lived in Tokyo during the big earthquake.

What's an alter? And why can't you use yours?

It is similar, alters only exist in 5% of children born in the Lost Ground created by the great earthquake.

Alter users can destroy matter and reshape it into an avatar with our minds. but, I don't remember mine. I can remember things that were common knowledge at home, but nothing about my life or past.

Maybe I don't have the will to call an alter in this state.
