Soooo... this was a week. Started off still in slight panic mode because of the financial situation and Katie's new job still not coming through. Then it came through... but Katie was notified the night before that she was starting the following morning. So we had to scramble to finagle ride logistics and such because I was scheduled to work Thursday and Friday. And on my first day home watching the baby girl without Katie, Gareth decided he wasn't feeling well and stayed home from school, so I had to watch both kids and couldn't even get a feel for what my schedule would be with Evie once things got going. Then I was stressed out because Gareth's teachers are not communicating very well with us and I had to write out a whole (diplomatic) email explaining our concerns and frustrations. On top of that, our dryer has been dead for a few weeks so I've had to make nightly trips to and from the laundromat, and then today our kitchen faucet went kaput and I can't fix it until I receive a part from the company that made it.
Blarg.
Among the high points, though, was getting taken out to eat at a Brazilian steakhouse by my boss. Also, we finally got smartphones. Not the smartest move when we don't have a steady income at the moment, but Katie's phone was on the way out and it seemed stupid not to just take the big step forward. So, yeah, we're living with the rest of you in the 21st century now.
I still can't over how I have to open an app just to use the phone as a phone, though.
