Hair today, gone tomorrow

For at least a few years I had infrequently talked about shaving my head.  With a receding hairline and a bald patch (which I've had since college), my options with my hair were limited.  I cycled between two styles - short and spikey, and long and parted in the middle.  Recently, I threw caution to the wind and tried a longer, "indie rock" hairstyle (a la Ben Folds).  It sort of looked okay, but my hair is seriously TOO messy and unmanageable for even the messy and unmanageable styles.

So yesterday I shaved it all off.

The last time I had a buzz cut was when I was in fifth grade (which would have been 94 or 95 I think).  I hated it, so I vowed never to get one again.  Little did I know that the baldness gene would hit me so hard.  Surprisingly, it doesn't look too bad.  I think the goatee helps offset it a little.

Sorry, no pics.  I don't typically do selfies.  Maybe I'll have Katie snap one for me later.

In other news, packing is building up steam.  We made some progress last night, and I'm hoping to do some more tonight, but the majority of it probably won't happen until next week.  It's hard to focus on my other projects when the packing gods are frowing at me from above, so I've really had to strain to get Bardsworth done.  And as for my writing... pffft.  Maybe after we've settled in a bit.

All right, I have to go play Missile Command for the benefit of the little man.  For some reason he LOVES watching me play it, so we've been consistently trying to beat our high school (it's been 67700 for about a week and I haven't been able to hit it again).

On to saving the world!
