I remember a while back thinking to myself that my music selection had become a bit stagnant. I was just re-hashing a lot of my favorites. I've got a lot of music, so I was able to sustain various genres and themes to keep myself satisfied, but my inlet had dried up. I had replenished the vault with very few new favorites.

I no longer own any apple devices, and therefore had fallen off keeping up with podcasts. Then I installed a podcast receiver. The music is new, fresh, weird, and sometimes confusing (hello Robert-Johnson.de), but inevitably, I get my ears into something that sticks. I also have RJ.de to thank for that, as well as ResidentAdvisor. Another that I've been receiving, but not necessarily keeping on top of is Ibiza Voice.

Admittedly, anything associated with Ibiza now to me has an air of cheesiness, but there's usually a techno artist that I recognize that'll turn up with a nice mix. Tonight when I got home from the Aeros hockey game (4-1, Aeros win) I cranked up Juice (podcast receiver) and noticed this downloading:

Richie Hawtin Ibiza Voice Podcast (208:27)
http://www.ibiza-voice.com/sessions/media/Richie_Hawtin_Ibiza_Voice_Podcast.mp3
293mb/192kbps

In a small way I want to hate on Richie a little, being that he's so dreamy, but I would be remiss to allow a little hang-up to deny myself of good music.

Lastly, I had overlooked the capability to save streams with VLC. I tested it out the other day, and the built-in wizard makes it a cinch. I plan on saving some somafm streams here soon.
