So

So I recently realized I start all my posts and new paragraphs with 'so' (i.e. so this week was cool/ so let me tell you about this/ so, so and so came to visit.) I'm awesome. Anyways, I had a less than mediocre day. Didn't quite get as big a raise as I was hoping, in fact not even close so I'm debating on whether or not to stick around, or just move on to some other place. Who knows, I guess I'm only 21 so it's no big deal for me to be poor for another 6 months or so. Just feel disappointed and kinda used. This week is going to be insane. Here's the setup. Starting today I have digital restoration (dirt correction) on a film transfer. (5 days straight of this) As I'm dirt correcting, I also have to be digitizing (recording audio into protools) audio from three seperate digibetas at once for an hour long sitcom they're going to start broadcasting internationally. (there are 24 episodes I have to digitize) So I have to get that started while I'm DRSing and check on it periodically to make sure it still has sync. Ok, there's more. I'm also responsible for our tape vault since no one else is there so if anyone needs stock or is picking up or dropping off, I have to stop what I'm doing and go help them. Also I'm assisting on an ADR session in Audio 1 for Lions Gate. And just when you thought that was all I'm also assisting on a Mix session in Audio 2, also for Lions Gate. ALL THIS AT THE SAME TIME. I can't wait. I needed some work to take my mind off everything else. The sitcom I'm digitizing is a big project for Lions Gate. We have to digitize all 24 episodes, conform them (sync the foreign comp tracks with the english) and then lay them back to DA88... and we only have until the 14th of february. Just to give you an idea, this would normally be a two month job, but this is a rush that got handed off so we have 2 weeks. So basically it's all on me and Ken with Steve supporting in case we need some extra help. After we finish the digitizing and the conforming this week and some of next, we're both going to be doing nonstop laybacks, all day until they're done. I love this down to the wire stuff, because you know you're going to get it done and you're going to kick ass.

Ok, moving on to normal stuff. This friday, after a very long day of work, we're bringing in a band to record. Company doesn't know about it, hopefully they never will. lol I'm engineering the session so I'm psyched. Some local punk band (hardcore punk, not the "I want to hold your hand and cry in the dark" punk) So finally I get to do some music. The catch is, I don't finish my work day till 2am saturday, so that's when the session starts. And we'll be recording until late morning saturday. It'll be worth it though. And then of course is the huge superbowl party at steves. That's gonna rock. He's somehow going to cram like 30 people into his apartment, oh well, free beer. I guess that's it for now. I think with long posts like these, I probably read them more than other people cause I probably talk about really boring stuff. That's ok with me, I'm getting drunk this weekend SKEET SKEET
