my take on the Rutgers tragedy. with a little sidestuff.
so .. i brought my laptop to planet earth today thinking i'd really take some legit notes.
well i walk in like 10 minutes late take down the outline of the class and proceed to "check my tumblr". OKAY.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CHECKING TUMBLR. IT'S LIKE ONCE YOU'RE ON IT. YOU'RE STUCK. GAH what to do. now it's a half hour into class and i still don't know what this professor is talking about. -_-
looking around at our class. everyone is on fb. or they have it up in at least one screen. i'm so glad i refuse to take the laptop to comm. -__- that woulda been pretty bad. i actually love the class .. so it's okay. just realized my screen doesn't get any darker than this. fml. guy behind me prolly saw me stanning on my tumblr. oh crap. he's the cute one. FML FML just turned around and saw him looking right at me. oops.
i haven't updated this in a while though =/ it's been a week O_O i feel like something ALWAYS gets in the way of livejournal. whether it's xanga, myspace, facebook and now tumblr =(

so evidently, since i go to Rutgers, the atmosphere here is very sober and depressing. last night there was a memorial gathering for Tyler Clementi's death. i think i was up until 4 am last night reading people's disgusting heartless posts towards Clementi, Ravi and Wei. all were great students, Clementi was on a music scholarship, Wei was in the pharmacy school, and Ravi was from well. one of the most reputable public schools in NJ (West Windsor-Plainsboro). it sucks that they all worked so hard all their lives, to lose it all in one instant. some of the facebook groups about wanting them to be charged for manslaughter of Clementi is absolutely ridiculous though! they're 18 year olds in their first month of college. people make mistakes guys. they thought they were having a little fun by doing this, but people are giving this issue more attention than a college shooting! dumbasses like perez hilton are even going to the extent of saying this whole issue was some sort of hate crime against gays!? what's he on. dharun would've done the same thing even if Clementi wasn't gay. he's just immature like that, he wasn't targetting him because he was gay. those people attacking ravi and wei about being homophobes are absolutely ridiculous. i understand, it was a real breach of privacy and they should be punished. but the gay community needs to stop hating on them so much. i feel like they're really just looking for attention! i hate it. i feel like if Clementi was having sex with a girl, and these kids filmed that, it wouldn't have been a big issue. if anything, the kid would've been a hero and people would've high-fived him on the street, screaming things like "GET IT" and other shit like that. but no, the kid was sexing up a guy, so it's a big deal now. he's traumatized blah blah. in the end, the media's just blowing this problem up way too outta proportion, and because of the media, is probably why Clementi committed suicide in the first place.
