Challenge 5: Gold

Aug 07, 2010 09:25

Welcome to the final challenge of our inaugural round! We have TWO colors. You'll each write two drabbles: one long (gold) and one short (orange). For each color, you can choose to follow either the word or picture prompt or both.

Gold Prompt: “Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.” - Robert Frost

Word Count: 400-499 words

Pyrite: Fool's Gold

Orange Prompt: “A man is not an orange. You can't eat the fruit and throw the peel away.” - Arthur Miller

Word Count: 200-250 words

Rules:
1. All drabbles must adhere to the WORD LENGTH REQUIREMENTS.
2. Follow the picture or quote prompt or both. They're open to interpretation. :)
3. Do not show your drabbles until the results have been posted. A beta is fine.

Submit drabbles via comment to THIS post by WEDNESDAY before MIDNIGHT (EST). I'll cross off names as I receive them. Please use this header:
