Okey dokey, here's my SQUEEING. I posted the same thing over @
jackkatefans.
My OTP is BACK.
For those of you who saw last night's episode of LOST, or just want to know what happened, my thoughts on Jack and Kate are below the cut. Along with some pics!
Okay, so I'm in a much calmer mood than I was last night. I was hyperventilating, actually SHAKING. It was ridiculous.
Okay, so first scene. Kate totally being jealous when she saw Juliet with Jack.
And OMG Sayid's look to her - twas brief but meaningful. This episode pretty much started up another triangle. Though I'm not actually sure anything will "happen" betwen Jack and Juliet. I think it'll be much like the Jack and Ana relationship was, though closer.
And then of course there was Locke's, "It'll be better if you're the first one he sees." I swear, everyone on the island's a Jater. Geez.
Second scene! The second I heard the piano music I got chills up and down my spine. It was so lovely. The way she watched him playing the piano...that was utter LOVE. You can tell she is falling more and more for this man by the second I LOVED the expression on Jack's face when he turned around and saw Kate - it was like a puppy dog. And Kate's expression was just as good - it had the kind of shocked, I-can't-believe-you're-right-in-front-of-me-you-football-catching-Other-man-and-I-love-you.
Kate's, "Hi" was so utterly perfect. Breathless, full of emotion, and yet a bit uncomfortable. She doesn't know what Jack is doing with the Others, but she knows it's not him. And yet she's still a little wary, opting for the "hi" instead of the typical Jack/Kate greeting of "hey". LOL.
And then of course the Others came bursting in. Ah, what can you do?
But I did love her, "I'm not leaving you again!" and Jack's repeated, "Don't hurt her!" Such freaking love. Also loved the fact that Jack was NOT playing Heart & Soul because we don't need any reminders of Sarah here. Nope.
Alrightly. Big scene. Known to Jaters all over the world as the "Why the heck didn't they do it on the pool table?" scene.
To me, it was highly reminiscent of their reunion in I Do, what with all the "Did they hurt you?"s and the "What did they do to you?" and the talk about trusting the Others. It was interesting to see the role reversal there.
Also, they weren't seperated by glass and what's the first thing that happens? They get close. Intimately close. So close that they were LIKETHIS. Why there are still people who doubt that Jack and Kate care for each other, I dunno. It was INSTINCTIVE to get closer. And though Kate was the one who initiated the contact, as Jack was so clearly trying to be strong and a little distant, the second she got close to him, that all disappeared.
I personally loved the hand twitch. Just as Kate is placing her hand on his, Jack's hand twitches, as if he wants to pull away, seperate himself from this woman who has caused him so much heartbreak, but ultimately he can't.
Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself. After typical talk, Kate says, "So you're with them now." Jack responds, "I'm not with anyone, Kate." And you know, that's true. I think his loyalty lies mainly with the Losties, which is why he told Kate it was their best chance of getting off the island, but he was so broken by seeing her with Sawyer that he has no incentive to really stay on the island.
Then of course Kate asks Jack why he was acting this way and Jack begins to say, "There's no way I could - " and he stutters a bit. My guess is that he was thinking there was no way he could explain it to her. No way that he could even put into words how he felt when he saw her with Sawyer. Then she had to go and interrupt him while he was trying to explain and he yells that he told her not to come back and she says, "I didn't think you meant it." I, however, think he did. I think that he didn't want her to be captured by the Others again, because like he says later on, if his friends were being held captive, then he wouldn't leave.
ANYWAY. Back to the hands. I have a bit of a hand fetish when it comes to these two so every time they touch, I SQUEE like a li'l girl. I loved how they held hands throughout THE WHOLE SCENE. And how Jack just couldn't help holding her fingers as well.
I loved how we saw Jack's expression when Kate got close, how when she kneeled down next to him he couldn't help but lean in closer to her, how Kate had to collect herself before asking him what they did to him...I loved how when Jack told Kate they were letting him go home, how she kind of half-smiled as if trying to be happy for him and then had to look away, how when Jack told her when he was leaving he said it softly, and how she kept nodding like she was trying to be strong.
And then there was the best moment. When Kate asks Jack why he would trust the Others and he answers that she told him to. And then, as he talks about when she asked him to save Sawyer's life, how his eyes are lowered and he can't even look at her because he's thinking of what he saw on the monitors. And then, oh God, how Kate's guilty realization hits her and she gets EVEN CLOSER to Jack before asking him what they told him. And how Jack kind of looks at her before Juliet interrupts...
The LOOK on Kate's face when Juliet says that it's time to leave, and then how she has to detach herself from him and turn around because she can't deal with the emotions that she's feeling, the thoughts that are crossing in her mind...it's just all so beautiful. How Kate's head is lowered and when Jack says, "I wish that you hadn't", she kind of shakes her head. How when he starts to whisper in her ear that he'll come back for her, she brings her head up a little, pain and longing written all over her face. How Jack hesitated at the door before leaving...I realize I haven't been typing actual sentences, more like fragments, but I can't help it. That's what these two do to me.
I would also like to point out that at this point, Kate believes this is the last time she'll ever see Jack. Jack doesn't, because of course he's coming back for her. Take note that when Sawyer and Kate parted ways, back in season one, Kate offered him a mere, "Take care of yourself, Sawyer." Then, after she couldn't find him the next morning to say goodbye (during which she didn't seem all that torn up inside to me), she went on with her day of trekking into the jungle with Jack, blowing up hatches, and the like. ;)
Also, guys, I made a vid. I plugged it last post, but figured I'd do it again. ;) Includes scenes from last night's episode, but posted it before actual clips were released. So the clips that are in the vid are from promos and such. But that should not deter you anyway, it's Jate! :) Done to Imogen Heap's Can't Take It In. If you'd like a downloadable link, let me know. The vid is
HERE. I'd love to know what you think. :)
