So, mainly because of kateshort & sweetbelle07, I've started to watch the show Heroes. And below the cut are my thoughts/reactions to the first three episodes! Beware, they may seem a little bit rambly. Spoilers, obviously. :)
That cliffhanger from episode 3 is still one of the BEST cliffhangers ever. :D
The police guy -- Greg Grunberg -- was also well known as the Spy Buddy from Alias. He started out on the chunky side, as the comic relief, and then he lost a ton of weight and ended up really hot. And he was doing sooper-sekrit CIA/SWAT tactical stuff, too. Here, he's about in-between... not skinny, but not totally fat either, and less confident in his abilities. He's just so natural at his role. I love it.
btw, the paintings are mostly by Tim Sale, who did a number of comics for DC -- Superman for all Seasons and the Batman Long Halloween series. Great stuff. Jeph Loeb, who wrote Superman for all Seasons and a bunch of other DC and Marvel comics, is one of the producers of Heroes. So it's very comic-book-ey because of that.
And of course you have Hiro, who is just full of awesomeness. Any guy who can cite Kitty Pryde issues of Uncanny X-Men comics (even if it was off by one issue) is totally perfect.
Ah, thanks for clarification about Greg Grunberg. :) Makes sense that since he played the pilot on LOST, he'd be on Alias as well - I think he's friends with JJ Abrams.
Wow, I need a Heroes icon...
Hee, same here. I should probably join some communities, too. You wouldn't happen to know of any, do you?
I *heart* Heroes. -sigh-
