The Obligatory Oscars Post

Mar 06, 2006 08:33

I still feel like crap. Absolute crap. I didn't sleep at all last night, between my clogged up nose, sore throat, and roaring headache. The only reason I'm at school is to stay after for Mock Trial practice.

But, I did watch the Oscars! Which I LOVE to do. Of course, I watched Walk the Line (second time in two days!) with my dad beforehand, so I missed a lot of it.

I am blissfully overcome with joy and extremely pissed off at the same time.

1) WTF at King Kong getting the Oscar for visual effects. Now, I haven't seen King Kong and I know that Peter Jackson is awesome and all, but the clips they were showing of that movie...you could TELL it was fake. I'm sorry, but the monkey looked fugly and it was so painfully OBVIOUS that Naomi Watts was standing in front of a bluescreen. UGH. Narnia should have gotten it, seriously, and this is not just because I'm biased. ;)

2) Narnia won makeup! While I am pleased that Narnia got an Oscar, I don't think it deserved this one. That should definitely have been Star Wars. They had to do the whole Sidius thing, create an Anakin burning suit thing, etc.

3) I'm happy about Rachel Weisz winning Supporting Actress. I ♥ her.

4) What exactly is the difference between Sound Editing and Sound Mixing? I'm confused.

5) Philip Seymour Hoffman won best actor. Who DIDN'T see that one coming?? I loved how he was so overwhelmed. :) But seriously Joaquin needs to win an Oscar. He NEEDS to. I ♥ him. Words can seriously not express the love I have for him.

6) REESE WITHERSPOON WON ACTRESS! OMFG! I was totally expecting Felicity Huffman to win, but OMG REESE! *cries* I love that woman. She was so sweet in her speech; loved how she paid tribute to June Carter and how she thanked Joaquin. And her husband. Just...GUH. And she looked gorgeous. <3 She really was oustanding in that movie, though, and her singing ROXED. *points to icon*

7) Crash won Best Picture. Now that I really didn't see coming. *ponders*

12th grade, oh noes i'm sick, movies, oscars
