Spring = Snow?? and other updates
First day of spring and we had snow today!! I don't mind--but lots of people were pissed off! They'd been dreaming of warm days and spring flowers--my Mom included!! I'd rather it be cooler than warmer and 34 degrees Fahrenheit seems wonderful to me!
Bailey escaped again last week and was out for about 8 hours. He was crying when we got home (meow, meow, meow) and jumped into my arms. You'd think that after that he'd be afraid to go outside again, but no--not Baybay! The very next day he tried to get out again. Even though cats don't usually go too far from home when they are out, I decided to get a microchip implanted in him. The whole thing took about 5 seconds, and he seemed like he didn't feel a thing! Now, if he gets out again and someone picks him up, they can scan him and get him back to us. He turned 11 months old on St. Patrick's Day.
Shelby will be 16 years old on the 30th of March--that's really old in cat years, like 80 years old!! After 3 years, when they're 28 years old in people time, they age 4 years for every year. Shelby had a check up last month and her kidney disease is more than under control. Nothing showed up in her blood work and her blood pressure is controlled!! I hope to keep her healthy and happy for many years to come.
Mom will be having tests on her heart over the next 2 weeks--she may have to have a valve replaced. She'll have the ultimate say in this, and I've decided to back her decision as long as whatever it is gives her the highest quality of life.
