Spirituality
There are people in this world that thin of themselves as spiritual, that consider themselves open and the rest of the world as closed. It is like they float.
Not me.
You could say I would prefer to keep my feet firmly on the ground, but I thing it is closer to the thruth to say I am knee deep in heavy clay. My fascination for the wurms in the solid ground has ever been greater than that for which ever castle they chose to build in the sky.
I do not need an afterlife, I have this one right here, and I am good with it.
So you could say, that I am probebly not the person that Paulo Coelho wrote his books for, and I probebly would not have read it ever.,. if it wasn't because this one anual thing in Holland we call "bookweek. " During this week, if you buy a book in Dutch above € 11,50 you get an extra book for free. If you have that extra book with you.. you can travel all around th netherlands by train on the sunday of that week. Since the trainticket for work is €23,60.. I had to get myself a book.
There wasn't anything I really liked in the bookshop, so I simply bought the cheepest one with a cover I liked: Paulo Coelho in this case, or this book : http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0061338818/ref=sib_dp_pt#reader-link
And as I have bought it, I feel I have to read it too.
But MAN it is annoying. First of all there is a whole "mother godess, spirits of nature" nonsense, but that I would be able to excuse it, just for for the fact that it is it is one of those books for floaters, that need these specific storiues to feel be above everyone else, to keep then from shooting everyone torturing them at highschool for believing in fairytales still.
But the conversation in the book is so BAD. No one talks like that. It is made up, and you can feel, see and even Smell it is made up. It reads like those editorial pieces at the start of a magazine where the editor in chief made up a funny storie just to fit with whatever articles the magazine has this moth. So terribly, terribly FAKE.
People at the office don;t all start dancing in teh morning just because one of their collegues is so enthousiuastic about it, and the cynic manager will never tell his superiors about the dancing either. Only floaters do.. People that think they are so special because they understand something about the world the rest of the world does not see.
Well look around you. Look around you and see. The world does not have a purpose. There is no meaning to life. It does not need to have one eigther.
It is beautiful the way it is.
