If this was any richer it would be fattening. When I made yesterday's post I checked to see if they had put up the vendor/artist applications. Nothing, nada, zilch. I check their FB page just now. . . by the way, I hate Farcebook and their use of members as unknowing, unpaid victims of social experimentation. . . but lo! There is was, a notice that the applications were up (posted around 7:30pm, 3 hours after I made my LJ post). Again, for shits and giggles, I looked at the forms. . . well, la de da, fan art is once again permitted. The eyes, they doth roll. . . 9_9 I'll admit, I'm torn. . . do I swallow my pride and apply, even if I feel like it would "accidentally" get deleted. . . or wait and see if they send out emails. . . because not everyone uses goddamn Farcebook. :P

Funny how they managed to do such an about face over the kind of image Senshi con wants. For what it's worth, I found only one major con that bans fan art (but not commissions of fan art) and that's Ohayocon. By all accounts, their alley is pretty dead. I found one other that put a 50% limit on fan art. That's it, and far from the push to try and stop fan art. Everywhere I looked, people complained that they go to anime cons to buy fan art of their favorite characters. The only people who did well selling original art were people who had a name already. This fact is something I often point out, though it did me no good last year.
