Shitshitshitshitshit. . .
Well, 2015 is carrying on the crap of 2014. After looking around for my copy of "Fantastic Beasts" I decided it would be easier in the long run to just see if the used book store had a copy. I thought I was lucky in that not only did they have it but also #3 of Alichino. So I go to pay, handing over a $20. I didn't even pay attention to the change I was handed back. I just stuffed it in my pocket and merrily went on my way. It wasn't until later I pulled out the money and discovered I had been given $2 and a nickel rather than $12 and a nickel. I'd been rung up as giving a $10 rather than a $20. Shit. So I couldn't even go back and say, "hey. . . " So someone got to pocket $10. If I'd been paying attention I'd have said something. . . but I let myself feel some moment of triumph at actually finding what I'd been looking for. Shit.
The only thing to come out of this is that I'm making progress on the ashwinder painting. It will be my fifth HP "Fantastic Beasts" painting (the others being Buckbeak the hippogriff, a thestral, golden snidget, and a unicorn in the Forbidden Forest). Not sure what I'll paint next. I try reading through the book to see what jumps out at me. . . but I just get pissed at having "lost" $10 when getting it.
At least Downton Abbey is on tonight. Finally. :P
