Pittsburgh Day2

I got more sleep last night than I have in months, no cats, no grandmother, no place to be. I'm also alone here so I don't feel any compulsion to "keep busy". There were a few places I was thinking of going but many of them are booked with G20 related events, so I spent a lot of time just relaxing by myself. I've seen the sites in Pittsburgh many times, and a most people I'd hang out with were at work or have moved. I have vague plans for the rest of the week so I can accept just taking a day for the rare chance to do nothing. It's also probably better and cheaper for me that going to Oakland to eat a block of cheese fries the size of my head.

I did take a tour around SouthSide Works, a high-end shopping center a couple of blocks from here. It's like a much smaller Easton for those familiar. I looked around but I've lost the habit of shopping. I enjoy Netflix and the library and would really prefer to borrow rather than buy if it's not something I absolutely love. I get quickly frustrated shopping for clothes and shoes when the majority of stores don't go past 10. I can't fill an apartment I don't have with stuff I don't need. I get the odd temporary obsession (Hello Lush) but the last few years I tried to refrain from wanting stuff because James got much more joy than I do out of shopping, and I was ok with that. There's just not much I need. I like to make things, and prefer to alter, repair and refurbish rather than throw stuff away.
