Comic Road Trip is Epic Win!

So all and all a 100% successful trip. Yesterday was probably the most fun time I have has in a long while. What did I do you ask? (maybe not but humor me)

I, along with my friend Sami, traveled to the Fox Valley in search of comic books! (thus Comic Road Trip) We hit 2 stores in Green Bay and Appleton and 1 in Oshkosh.

GREEN BAY
Great Excape - Out first impression of this place was "Woah! It looks like our bedrooms!" It was a cozy hole in the wall kind of place that was rather disorganised but had HUGE variaty. We didn't realise there was a 2nd level of comic boxes till we has made the decision to slow down. The staff of coursed offered help but it seemed like they could care either or if we were there, until of course we came up to the counter with $130 in comics. It gets a 3 out of 5, but we will most definiately go back!

Powers - This place was much cleaner and much more organized. Imedeatly when we came in the guy came out from the back room to ask if we needed anything. He was very helpful seemed to be very friendly. The selection was small but it was cheeper then GE. it haso had video games, tho we didnt take the itme to play. The guy was very friendly even before we came up with the $110 order. Again a 3 out of 5, and again we will go back.

APPLETON
Chimerias - ok this really doesnt count as a comic stop since my #1 reason to come here was to look for a chuthlu plush and i didnt find out that i liked. But we did get some good comics. This was the cheepest stop on the whole trip. I think it was a total of $10 between the 2 of us. Not raiting due to that it is more of a game place then a comic place.

Power House - Single greatest stop on the trip! I think the owner offered us a job. He thought it was hularious that we were talking across the comics talking about what happened in certian issues. He was friendly and came right up to us as we entered and was even showing us a comic colection that looked intresting but not really on our focus for the day. To top the whole thing off there was just a ton of discounts! First there was a $0.50 boxes, then the $1 boxes, then the out of town discount on new issues, then there was the 25% on back issues that turned to 50% when you had $50 or more. We spend $70 and got the equivilant of $130. This one gets a 5 out of 5.

OSHKOSH
House of Heros - This one we knew what to expect. Most people who read this know exatily what this place is, how it looks, and you prople have spent time with me in it. this was only a $60-$70 stop becasue my list was low on issues.  Not going to rate becasue well you all know this place.

As i said a 100% successful trip. Sami and I did our usually Pluss Saga writing/roleplaying and we laughed the entire drives. We are already saying this should be done again. Perhaps this time the car paint will stay on and it wont run all over the place (THE GREEN LANTERN IS GONE!!!) and I can take proper pictures of my car fully done up. For now I must read through all of my new comics. ....I'm gonna need more boxes for them....
