I've discovered plumbers are much like firemen.  They may be drastically overpaid 99% of the time, but they make up for it with that last 1% when it gets bad.  They really do earn it all with that last little bit.

May I never have to work on a black water line again.  The funny thing is I could have done it all while keeping the entire thing sealed.  Of course, if something had gone wrong I'd have ended up with an entire tank of black water blowing up in my face.  And given my luck the last year.....   So I played it safe and made a guaranteed small smelly mess instead of taking on the slight risk of a huge one that would have been the last straw to snap my stability.  Now everything is all fixed up how I wanted it.

I hope fixing the hot water tank (which may not actually be broken in any way, I just can't get the pilot light to ignite) and the second propane furnace goes as well.  We suspect the propane leak I still smell despite fixing the bad leak is really the pilot light on that furnace not lighting up.  In which case two problems are really one.  And then I don't really have to fix it so much as just shut it off.  I'd like both furnaces running but it's not really cold enough here to need it.  This thing was designed to keep people warm in  Eastern Washington Winters.  I don't need that much heat.  I'd just like to have everything working properly.  It might also be worth figuring out how to hook-up the disabled heating vents that were shut down to tone down the heat system in this thing (it really is overpowered for this region).  I know other ways to moderate how hot they run and it would help keep the value of this thing up when I sell it.

My real main concerns are getting rid of the leak and getting hot water so I can host people here.  I can shower on campus and cook meals on an electric range (just thought of that this morning while writing to Lokjell), but I can't bring visitors into the campus gym and it would suck to do to a guest.  I want them to be comfortable here with nice bath facilities.

Guess I should go dig through all the old manuals for this thing and see what I can figure out.
Wish I had more time for this.
