I had jury duty today, which is never a pleasant experience for me. I had to go there at 8am and we got called in to a courtroom at about 10 - which is a lot better than my last time there, when I didn't get called in until about 2 or 3. There was still a lot of waiting, though, which made me glad that I brought the DS and I had Chrono Trigger to play the whole time.
Anyways, the judge and the lawyers talked, they selected the jury (without me even being called up at all), then the rest of the potential jurors were sent back downstairs to see if we can go home or if we were gonna get assigned to a new room.
As I was waiting, my name got called out and apparently, since my name was called, I had to stay back with 19 other people because we might have to go into another room. I watched everyone else leaving, free to go, and I was stuck there, praying that we weren't needed. Finally, the reception people got the call that we weren't needed and I was free to go! No need to serve anymore until at least 18 months from now. Hopefully it'll be a lot longer than that.
