Was it the eerie silence, in the room, that woke Ron? He had slept in the same room as Harry for nine years, and the same bed for two.
Was it the growing noise, down in the street? They’d taken a room at the Three Broomsticks, the night before, and gone straight to bed, and there hadn’t been any sign of anything out of the ordinary.
Was it the fact that Harry had left, without him? After all his promises, he’d gone on, alone.
People celebrated Voldemort’s fall, below his window, as Ron rocked and hugged Harry’s pillow and waited.
