"The sanctuary of God is inside you and all around you."

The Gospels of Matthew and Luke tell very different, mutually contradictory stories about the virgin birth of Jesus. The Gospel of Mark is entirely silent on the question. The Gospel of John and the letters of Paul very quietly affirm that Jesus was conceived and born in the ordinary human fashion, just like all the rest of us. However he came into the world, I for one am incredibly glad he did, and that Christianity, of which Jesus was not the founder, nevertheless managed to preserve his core teachings, despite muddying them up with a palimpsest of other peoples' redactions, revisions, inventions, transpositions, and additions, given that in the absence of those distortions it's entirely likely that Jesus's core teachings wouldn't have survived at all.
