I wanted to save the 900th blog post for something big. The Germans are sending tanks to the Ukraine. Last time that this happened it did not end well.
Of course it doesn't Russia has repeatedly stated that it sees the war as one (poxy war) of the West against Russia. And that's the only relevant side (in this matter). The one whose interpretation counts. What the German foreign minister says is rather ridiculous. Unfortunately, far too many in this country take her seriously
Tanks to russia won't have much military impact, politically they are both escalation towards direct involvement (next war planes, then troups?) and another signal that the west sets on military action alone, which is end of diplomacy

I have heard this a few times today. Volya will probably point to his nukes and frown at the west. The UK wants to send troops to deflect from the dire home situation.

I know one thing about forcing an enemy into a corner, if he has nukes he has nothing to lose.

The modern left has been fully assimilated into neocon ideology. Principled Marxism is the solution.

Unsure I agree, but a valid point.

On a lighter side, the incompetent german State Secretary somehow declared war on Russia

(of course she lacks the competence to do so. German constitution doesn't even know declaration of war - just defence against an attack)

I am unsure that legal qualifies as a declaration of war!
