2010 saw the departure of noted drug addict and broadcaster Gerry Ryan. A mediocrity who could only have "made it" in Ireland he shuffled off his mortal coil and goes to the great radio talk show in the sky. Ireland is not all bad however, my attention being drawn to an archaeological rarity, a Cross of Lorraine on the gable end of an otherwise undistinguished church near the Burren. Whether my Great Grandparents attended or not is unrecorded.
Now to that murky gray area, the law. Is a sgian dhu illegal? In England and Wales as with the Sikh "Kirpan" it can be worn with Highland dress or equivalent. Scotland had banned it on occasion. But Northern Ireland? Perhaps I will find out in a few days time.
Finally, just saw Sigourney Weaver in spoof film. She is superfine.
