The postman has valiantly delivered yet another missive from Strasbourg to Broxted Towers. The delay this time seems due to the parsimony of Harriet et al at the Foreign Office trying to wriggle out of a compensation payment. The European Court has asked Whitehall to "reconsider" (i.e told them to stop messing about) and deal with the cases involved. No entering it's seventh year it is too long to be farcical, evincing a poor attitude to being caught out. Imagine the guilty in court here saying they refused to acknowledge a sentence.
Now to Ealing. Whilst in London last week there was a story of a man stopped for fare evasion stabbing a constable almost to death. The truth is less prosaic. P.C Paul Madden is not in danger (never was), PCSO Piotr Dolata (good English name) was also only slightly injured. John Onyenchaychi was up in front of the beak today surrounded by a dozen armed police. How very scared they are. How very right they are to be.
