Is David Cameron the new Churchill?

Not unless one is comparing Dave with the nodding dog version. Now to my revisionist view of Winnie. I understand the slavish affection in which he is held but my own connection with Churchill the war leader dates to August 1915 when my paternal Grandfather along with many others landed at Gallipoli with a mission that was a poisoned chalice. As with von Battenberg/Mountbatten in the next war the elevated rank of the person culpable for the disaster (whether Suvla or H.M.S Kelly) saved them from retribution.
Churchill's Irish policy was far from sound, as to India and his quote on Gandhi the less said the better. Compare an alcoholic racist to Mahatma and guess who comes off worst? Winnie was myopic about Europe too, speaking French with a deliberate English accent (the Welsh version of this is called Squire's Welsh).
Finally, under Churchill Britain went from world power to pauper, losing it's role not just on the global stage but even as a bit player.
